A firm trajectory, made of poetry and clothed in social criticism and feminism, which tells our own story, those parts of ourselves that we want to avoid, but that the artist forces us to breathe with no possible escape
From the 80s until now, the work of Teresa Matas has not stopped evolving. She masters all kinds of techniques and materials, such as papers, performative videos, sculptures, installations and, above all, used, dyed and sewn fabrics that serve as supports that the artist turns into vehicles to imbue us with her deep sensibility .
With her performance, she aims to give space to mourning in order to remember those loved ones who are no longer there. It is an act of accompaniment from the emotion, but also from the action: joining the clothes of the people who are no longer there with stitches, leaving the Church and walking to Sant Salvador in silence, carrying memories and emptiness and sadness.

The artist Teresa Matas, Ramon Llull Award (2005) and member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Sant Sebastià de Palma, presents Segon Encontre at the Cool Days Festival, a collective action accompanied by personal memory. We will stitch together the pieces of clothing that will cover the body and heart of the people who are no longer there and with this large fabric we will walk from the Church to Sant Salvador, healing the wounds and letting go of the void.
